Today..24 December. 2014 @ 4:14 PM the church bells across Niagara (& some in Buffalo) will begin to peal, in celebration of the signing of the Treaty of Ghent..ending the war of 1812,(The North American one.)& the resulting 200 years of peace between our nations.
Although it isn't always easy being the tiny population that lives next door to the American giant - things have worked out pretty well, I'd say.
Since that time Canada has become America's largest trading partner & her most reliable ally.
I hoist a mug or two to that!

I raise my glass to Hoadie, and all the other Canadians, my Brothers.

I will do my best to drink Canada dry.
