I've never had a problem crossing with it, Ed. There is a limit to how much you can have @ one time though.Check it out.
American gov't looks @ firearms made before 1898 as antiques.
So you got an in, there.
How close are you to Cdn border ?

Hoadie, about lake Tahoe close! Not at all. However, instead of saving for retirement we tend to travel a bit, and we get up to Vancouver/Victoria every 2 or 3 years. I was looking at the Olympic Peninsula in Wa. for retirement.

My uncle was in White Plains N.Y. before he retired so we got into your end of the country, too.  Hey, I went  to Bob-Lo Island when it was still an amusement park instead of a housing development!

Mr. Redgwell would be the guy to know. He has 200grn bullets available on his sight. Lee has reloading data for a 215 grn bullet, but that is the largest I see in the data I have.

Way too much. You'll NEVER get accuracy - to any degree - with loads like that.
Doesn't seem to be too much on recoil.I'm willing to bet that if ya hit somethin with it(bear or Moose) you'd probably have to lick the bullet to get anything useable!

the Deer i shot this season with the .303  150gr.  did fine with little damage to the exiting side . the exit wound was about 1.5 inches in dia.
and for me is nice, i shot 2 deer last season with my 7mm Rem Mag. and the exit wound you could stick a coffee mug in it and not touch the sides.
to many broke ribs and too much wast. now as for the hogs that i killed with the 7 mag were head shots and the bullet stoped in the front quarter of the body. havent killed a hog with the .303 yet some day i will get a chance too .

WR: ya gotta remember the "type" of bullet your using, too.Kling Core Soft Point etc. That makes the difference on damage too, depending upon expansion.

We used 215gns years ago for Water Buff & to me they did nothing that a good 180gn load will do ! 150gns is plenty for anything your going to hunt at the end of the day as the extra verlosity aids in penitration & with the range of bullets avalible these days coupled with the lack of recoil ,bullet placement will do the job nicely

I think in the back of our minds ,deep in the sub consensus there remains the memories of the days of the Neanderthal ! You had to use the largest stick or rock to kill your game !
