I use Remington Brass; I load the new brass to shoot, which is effectively the same as the standard military rounds. When reloading the brass after it has been used, I check the length, as they do need trimming quite often. Then neck size only and reload.  I do not use an O ring, I do not see the necessity if the rifle chamber is within spec. If it is out of spec, I would not want to shoot it anyway! The chamber sizes can vary between rifles so if you have more than one rifle, it maybe worth having sets of ammo for each weapon. I have not seen much difference in accuracy between new and used brass yet, but I am just starting out so have not as much experience as other members here. I don't get much chance to shoot long distance, where the difference may be more apparent.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I found the Winchester brass hard & brittle. Most had neck splits after just a few reloads. The Rem seemed not as brittle in the neck area, but still had the base size issue, maybe its resizing easier because its softer at the neck?
The Prvi had neither & I'm on my 8th reload for at least one lot of it.

The problem with Winchester brass is that it is slightly undersize.
This fired in an excessively oversize chamber creates all sorts of problems, swollen bases, ruptured cases stretched and deformed necks and cases etc.
If used in a match grade chamber with tight tolerence it is not an issue.
The problem with Winchester is that they try to please everybody and in the long run please nobody.

Not that I've heard of. Prvi is usually headstamped either "PPU" or"nny" (actually the "nny" is as close as an arabic lettered keyboard can come to the cyrilic charecters). Remington is usually headstamped "R-P" or "REM". Privi is rebranded as many brands, such as "Wolf Gold", but I don't think Remington is one of them.

Brass for .303 in decending order of quality would be:
Lapua
Norma
Privi
Remington
Winchester

Just MHO, but most seem to agree.Clap

where does hornady and federal brass place on the list?

As I haven'tried either it would be a (bad) guess on my part. Anyone who'se actually used these care to comment?

Nothing wrong with Prvi brass.

Setting the head-space on the shoulder is not the only reason for fire-forming with the O-ring.  Centering the case in the chamber is probably the most important reason.  Simply lubing the case will prevent or lessen case elongation is the head-space is 'normal'.

With regular neck annealing the case should last fore-ever.  I only ever lost cases to neck splitting or the long grass.  Mostly neck splits.  Then I started annealing and that went away.  But I always lube my loaded cases!  See my thread on lubing cases.

In 30 + years of shooting and reloading I have never used or heard of this O-ring method

It's new to me too.  I only heard of it about a year or two ago.

Its supposed to force thin rims back towards the bolt face so the case blows out more into oversized chambers, or into off-center chambers. This in turn is suggested to extend case life by minimizing stretch in subsequent firings by having the case supported at the neck.

No-one has ever explained to me why just firing normally then only partial resizing won't do the exact same thing.Confused

My thoughts are if you need to O-ring the brass because of loose chamber, then retire the rifle,

Remember start at the very minimum load, shoot and group, creep up on you sweet load, load ten at a time check grouping and go from there. Second thing to remember the hottest and badest load your rifle can stand is NOT necessarily the most accurate. Take you time and be very careful. Always do everything the same way every time. Inspect and check everything all the time everytime, if in doubt do not use. Good Luck
