Have you checked the handguards aren't touching the barrel at the barrel band or the joint near the rear sight??
That one is a bear to find because it doesn't happen when you can see it.

I will check it again tonight. They appeared to be OK the first time I took them off buy the wood shifted after I got it out in the hot sun. Anything is possible!

Sorry I was thinking of Zed's issue when I wrote that.

Shamu, I probably need to take the No1 apart again and see if I can spot anything now it's had some use.
I'm not really sure if it's the rifle; I think the change in elevation could also be a problem with me; inconsistent firing position etc.
I'm planning on getting some coaching. I've never had a professional look at how I shoot and see if I'm doing anything wrong. But I think it would be worth while. I'm not a bad shot, but often have one shot that spoils a good group. While I've spent a lot of time on the rifle; I decided I should also work on my technique.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Have you tried filming yourself with a video camera? I did that once & it showed me all sorts of things I could work on.Lamp
