Yes/no.
It depends on the diameter of the muzzle and if you are using an original FH or a repro with a different ID.

yes - they get in the way as does the muzzle diameter - it can be turned down , but why not buy a no5 ???????????????

Not necessarily. There is a length of muzzle in front of the lugs. If only a cone and not a whole assembly as on a #5, then the ID could be opened up some and sweated on. In fact I did the same with a cut back #4. I used a repro #5 front sight assy and cut off the sight.
