I have a question. Do any of the members that have a true Enfield (T) or clone hunt with them? Curious to know if they are reserved for the range only. Thanks.

I don't have one (much to my chagrin), but if I did, I certainly wouldn't hunt with it - given the pounding my rifles have to take when I'm in the bush, hunting.
I would end up with a badly dented & scratched historical piece!

The clone I'm currently working on, although in my opinion nice, is now where near some of the examples I've seen on this site, lacking the "correct scope/mount". I currently use the DAI mount with a 2.5x Weaver. But to me, it will be a range rifle. I have a couple of sporters I use. One with a Bishop walnut stock has harvested much venison!

My genuine No.4 T is only used on the range. The serious modern hunter will realize that he now has access to both better ballistics and optics.

I am definitely not one of those! I have used a .303 forever, my black powder rifle is a TC Renegade. Shoot 420gr buffalo bullet with 90 grs of real black powder. My shotgun is a '34 Winchester pump! Sorry to stray from the main topic a bit. I do realize there are more modern rifles, but for me, it's very rewarding to bag deer with a weapon with all that history.

Kind of moving this off topic, sorry.

Any of you guys ever see the movie "Spy Games"? I don't think I had developed an interest in the SMLE yet when it was in the theater, but my wife put the DVD in the box a month or so ago. The story is about a character that Brad Pitt plays with his backstory being that of a USMC sniper at the very end of the VN war (1975). Yeah, I know. I'm enjoying my bowl of snacks, but this scene gets my attention.

Heah! That's an SMLE! So, I look it up on IMFDB and it is a Parker Hale T4!

If you want one go to the Joe Salter Canadian site.  He has one for close to $5k.

If you really want to give someone 5k for an Enfield. I need 5k. It's a real No4 Mk1 Enfield. The T goodies were put on by me...
