So I was roaming around a gunshop and saw a no4 T with the scope pads but no scope or mount, I had been sporterized ( cut down for stock) the barrel looked like a Santa Fe conversion. I was sad that it was bubba'd but they wanted $600 for it! Anyone think that's bleeping absurd?

That's too much to be sure. 1/2 that price would still be pushing it. To restore that rifle to it's original issued condition as a full on sniper with the correct scope, mount, screws, sling, furniture and etc. would be cost prohibitive and asking $600 for that rifle as is right now would negate dumping loads of cash to make it correct IMHO.

$125 tops. For that it would have to be the one Winston Churchill shot at Adolph Hitler with (& have papers proving it!)

The worst part is that these prices are getting this way because there is some ignoramus out there that will actually pay it.
