I used to like "Dad's Army" what seems like hundreds of years ago!...And Faulty Towers.  :-)

...and "The Good Life".  And Cluff, and that might give me age away!

You can't beat a good Carry On film (please note, not movie). There were plans to make a couple more I recall reading awhile ago but nothing seems to have materialised. Not sure they'd be the same today though.

We still get repeats of Dad's Army here every Saturday evening.
Have you noticed that the weapons are dead right. P17 rifles (lend lease) correct bayonets and the Lewis gun.

There's a few still knocking about. Barbara Windsor (79) and Jim Dale (81) to name a couple, but you're right hoadie that most of them are now carrying on through the pearly gates.

I have had a Beard in the past but no more.

Now it would be all White.

I would start to look like a gnome.

Nature compensates...
By the time your face falls apart your eyesight starts to fail.
Just don't wear reading glasses when you shave.

i was afraid of that - but im an eternal optimist , ill keep looking for the silver lining ,
ive always loved that song -
' there will be blue birds over the white cliffs of dover '

it has no connection personally my father was on saipan in the pacific except the captain morgan of the memphis bell was a CO , that movie left an impression and explained a lot of my fathers silence growing up - maybe some of why we fought so much - guess ill never know as he has been dead for 17 years now ,

anyway where i was going when i took that hard turn was , i grew up on the songs of hope and have lived my life with that inspiration , maybe tomorrow that 16 year old will look back at me - i have a huge surprise for the girls i meet that daY .............OR NOT ,
