That is definitely a horrid looking mount.
If it works for him, great. I'm going to make at least a half dozen of the one I made only a little longer so no one has to chop the top off of their rifles. The two holes in the top will be threaded for a 6-32 screw. Weaver still makes a flat based scope mount so,no issues there. I won't cut a notch for it to sit over the ejector screw though. Just above it however. The one I just made will sit, just touching the charging bridge and you don't need to cut the peep sight off like a T rifle when using a Weaver scope. |

The mount in the previous photos has the outside holes just a tad off. Nothing a little reshaping of the holes won't fix. I don't like that so, I made a new one with the correct hole spacing. I sent it out yesterday in the mail. We actually live about an hour and forty-five minutes from each other. I could have driven it to Oldhands front door. This is the new version,to the right of the PH mount.

That's the fist mount with the Weaver 4 power. Haven't received the second yet. The receiver holes were 6-48 thread. Not a problem.

Thought I would try to explain why I haven't posted the range results. First time out did not like the scope, went out to find a better. Got a Weaver 2X7, better but still couldn't see my holes at 100 yards. Put on a Pentax 3X12 and as I was just getting sighted in saw the scope base ad loosened up. Tightened base but only had one round left. Went home and loaded nine rounds and ran out of powder. Came time to replace my knee, now waiting for knee to heal, bought powder and have box of bullets ready to go.

This can only be done when not taking care of grandkids and mother with dementia. Free range we used to use has been shut down and paid ranges are only open Friday thru Sunday. It has only been 10 days since my right knee was totally replaced.

The funny part is that since I have been off my feet, my right shoulder(torn rotator cuff) has been more bothersome. Lifting and playing ball with the grandkids had kept it loose. Once I am cleared to drive again I will get a target shoot and posted.
