Just joined from Denver. Received my Ishapor .410 musket yesterday. Looking forward to shooting it with original 2.25 ball and reproducing shot cartridges. The chamber is original, not reamed for American .410.
I would like to remove the block of wood and fixed floor plate to make it a magazine fed shotty. Any suggestions? |

I've never heard of it being done successfully. It would require a lot of custom work to get the shot-she!! case mouth to feed as its shorter & wider than the original! Maybe talk so some who've done the .444 Marlin or 45/70 conversions?

The shot she!! is a 303 cartridge before necking down. Comparing one to the trigger guard/magazine well there should be enough side to side room. Vertically maby 5 she!!s would fit.

i first want o welcome you , we are a jovial bunch at times - do not let that fool you into thinking there are no serious collectors among us with valuable knpowledge - there are as wellas some experts in the sporting realm ,
i had one of these 410s once as well as one that was modified for the US 410 , both functioned great as built - never thought to modify them further from original , i do not know of anyone that has ever posted of such in the last near 20 years ive been on the forums - but i suppose it could be done , i doubt it would be very satisfactory in the end tho ,
these had a purpose and served it well , as a collectible you will ruin its value , that piece of wood has history , shame to loose it in the big picture , but just my 2 cents - its your rifle/shotgun |

The wood block is held by the trigger guard assembly. Isn't the follower plate attached to it also? If so I just need a spare mk/III trigger guard to switch back and fourth.

Any more thoughts on the .410 shot she!! Enfield as I have a couple of them. Have a few of the shot she!!s for them also. As I understand it they were made from well used shot out Enfields ad bored out for the British 410 shot she!!. Made into single shots by plugging the magazine. Issued to prison guards in India. Anyone have more info they can share? Later 42rocker
