verrry interesting , so much to learn , i gotta tell you guys that as kids we had these cussions we took to picnics and the ball park to sit on - my dad brought them home - they were those parachute packs without the extras , no idea where those went ,

I looked at the figure some more. Very good info, Shamu, on the straps. Maybe part of a USAF bomber crew? For some reason, my first impression was prim and proper RAF. (Not to say the USAF wasn't!)

In the second twirl at war, the USAF wasn't born yet. It was the USAAF(or was it USAAC?) USAF was born in 1948, iirc. |

yup USAAC- still known as army air corps in those days , but they were the beginning of a really different force here
