Ok, proud owner here of a WW1 No. 1/Mk3 Enfield. LOVE that thing, has served me many years as a deer taking machine. Ok. Now, IF I were to get my hands on another, and having checked around concerning dimensions of the particulars...Has anyone ever heard of a Brit Enfield being converted to .375 H&H mag? I have built a few muzzleloaders, and am building a double .58/double 16ga/16ga+.50 caliber cape gun combo, so I have reasonable 'smithing skills, but no doctoring ones if bits of myself get blown off. The whole mag length, thing, ejection angle, rails, I get, but what's the proven blow point of the old actions?

Hi there I hope you are talking about .375-2 1/2" flanged that was used in early BSA Lee Enfield sporting rifles around 1910 even the 375 H&H case would struggle to fit in a Lee Enfield mag .

Actually, the full sized .375 magnum. Been doodling, and I THINK I can get it to fit-my concern is the metallurgy in the action...It can likely handle it untouched, but after nibbling it to clear the case, might not be enough left. Not changing my current .303, but always dreaming and doodling.

I have an Enfield in 45/70, that some one did and I ended up getting in a trade...hade to find a mag for it though, that cost me around $80, But she is sweet to fire!! I can fire 50 plus rounds from her at bench rest and never complain, I shoot 5 from My H&R handi rifle in 45/70 and Im flinching on the 5th!! and bruised the next day!!!!

it was bills that inspired me , she was a .50cal needle gun , a springfield rifle converted to breech loader , single shot but reloadable while on horseback chasing buffalo ,

mines only a 45/70 but she operates similar enough

and then there is my favorite 22cals of the type -
