I'm thinking about re-chambering my Siamese Mauser in 303 improved, better known as the 303 Epps. I can have Ellwood Epps in Canada do the work for about $75.00.
Does anyone have any input? |

Better case life and a slight increase in velocity. Don't see why not.
Just check that you can get ready made brass that doesn't cost a fortune. Better to use ready made brass than try convert your own or you may end up doing a whole lot of extra work and find you don't get the same case life.

No, I would have to convert my own brass. Supposedly, you can fire normal 303 British rounds in an improved chamber and fire form it into 303 improved/Epps.

It's just like the Ackley improved cartridges. You can fire form them that way, but I recommend you anneal the neck/shoulder area afterwards.

I had an Epps built on a No4 303 action, it was straight forward to have it reamed and the brass from standard 303 Brit fire formed nicely.
The biggest pain was the No4 Enfield mag, they are a real hassle to get the "fat" Epps to feed properly.
If I do another 303 project, it will be a 35-303, the ones I have seen didn't present such a feeding problem as the 303 Epps did.
A 358 caliber neck sizing die is all that is needed to form brass and .358 diameter bullets are readily available.
