Here's a bit of a project!!! It's a Lee Enfield on sale, in the UK on Ebay (unusual in itself as firearms are verboten to be sold in this manner here). Apparently recovered from the Somme. being sold as a wall hanger. Anyone interested, the item number is: 141939804222

Would let it in the country.

It is fascinating. Wonder if it was loaded. Maybe a peek into the magazine through the rusty hole would reveal the remains of any rounds that might have been there. What caused the bent barrel? Probably farm machinery sometime in the last 100 years. Would you say it was cocked? The cocking piece looks as though it might have been, but hard to tell.

One thing for sure, if it could speak, it'd have a tale to tell.

Hi

Soak it in molasses and water for 3 weeks and then it would make a good wall decoration.

It could well have a round in the chamber; it appears cocked to me.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

boy , that is a dilemma , if its loaded and cocked you might not want to soak it - might not stay cocked

Hi

Never mind the soaking I just took a look at the pictures on the eBay ad and it would disappear if you tried soaking it, and the bolt arm is in the up position not the lock position.
