picked up one I have been looking for,a sante fe mountaineer.was told by the seller
it had some light pitting in the bore. figured that the price was pretty good so, worse scenario would be a 35 303. but had to shoot it first to see how it would do.
Well, first two greek mil spec,at 30 yards, had the most perfect keyholes I have ever seen, as Im cursing the seller, enfields, and myself, I thought Hmm I have some 174 hornady round nose 312 bullets in my everything bag.that solved the problem, nice round holes.after foolin with the sights,a nice dime size group appeared, Im going to mike some of the greek stuff just to see where its at,or it may be the longer driving
drive band on the hornady.next? try some of my favorite bullets, 215 woodlieghs. though a 35/303 sound like fun....
