Back a number of years ago when GM still had a foundry here in St.Catharines - my ex bro in law was working in it.
The foundry used to take in a lot of scrap metal for the melt.(My ex Father in law worked in the scrap yard across the canal feeding the foundry).
One day, in came bins & bins of these bayonets & scabbards. They were dumped into the melt.(Guess they are in older Corvette engine blocks now). My ex bro in law "rescued" one & gave it to me.
That's how Rhino ended up with his.
