I remember deet very well from being in the Army.

It would eat your field gear, boots, and remove the parkerizing from your rifle.

But, completely safe for people.
Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items,books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.

It was great "fun" to walk by and spray deer on the back of your patrol mates pants.

In a day or two there would be large holes.
