I got some new kids on the way
Ordered a jugle carbine marked with Gibbs rifle, Mauser m98k, and a CZ-52.. I got them from http://www.classicarms.us They had these for $179.99 They are not sure what they are. I felt safe to get the one that was marked with Gibbs. thought you all might want to see this info |

Gibbs used to be a fine fine company in England. They went under and Navy Arms bought them out. Brought all the machinery to West Virginia but none of the expetise. What they did was to take No. 4s and SMLEs and No 2A1s and convert them to carbines. Some were good conversions, some were not. LEt us know about yours.

Was all of the Gibbs conversioins? Not far from here I saw a Gibbs that looked like a new weapon (did not get to see it close up) it was cromed or in stainless. It was in the jugle carbine layout with a black stock. It was chambered for .308.. The price was $350 U.S.

Yes, ALL are conversions. They are also cleaned up and re-finished. Some are chrome or nickle plated. They all look good, but some do not hold together too well.

What is a No.5 conversion worth? I have a sporterized No.4 I might do the conversion on.Maybe I'll make some money for a change. I all ready got $125 in it so maybe not. i still need a mag for my $125 MKIII. Maybe I'll stick the mag in it for $30 and sell it for $160. I've the MKII in full stock go for as high as $350 so if a sporterized stock takes off half the value it should still be worth $175 right?

I've seen the future and I don't like it.
