We get the blue Herons here. They're usually very shy birds, but this one has become almost tame. All I do is sit still & he wanders over.

..the "Milermar" bird.
Quite a bird actually..they spend a lot of time WAY up in the air, following the shoreline.(You can barely see them). They watch the shallows for fish..when they see one they want, they tuck - in & come straight down like a javelin!! Goin like greased lightning!!
& when they hit the shallows, they hit with such force that all the air in their body gets blown out their arse @ once..& you can hear it fer a milermar!! [<:o)]

i have the blue herons on my land as well in the summer - one fishes every morning on the rocks outside my bedroom window ,

i guess we get complacent - forget what we have [easy to do when they went south and its below zero / the house is popping and the walk is crackling , the car is creaking and my ears are hurting ] i am not one to complain in general - i mostly mention , we are in a week long deep freeze after a weeks long thaw and rain on christmass/new years , not happy nor inclined to be civil about the weather - everything is ice here - with a snow cover , NOT HAPPY - just sayin ................

im into those bakinis - really into them ,

A-Square 10 , this New Years was so rainy I did not even to attempt to light the Bonfire !!it was coming down hard !! worst year ever !!! we just sat under the carport with the little fire pit the Wife got just in case !!! burning scraps of wood left from the guest room, LOL!! everything else was soaked !!!!
Lost most of the people to sleep, didnt help we stayed up till 4 am the night before !!! one of the many problems of Me and my Old Army Buds getting together ... we used to be able to do that for 3 or 4 nights in a row .. with age ...Well you get the point !!!! LOL!!
And that cold weather is now upon us !!! we just shut the AC off tonight and turned on the heat !!!

WR , im wondering what it might be like to be warm right now , my feet are cold , my hands are cold-white from the reynods and im so tierd of the numbness or needles and pins of thawing out i cannot even think of AC - heat is all i think of these days

i guess we shared the rain tho - over christmas and new years - two days ago we were still getting rain , today its below zero and not getting above [really] for the next week , i have a concealed carry class on saturday i need to work , they think maybe single digits above for highs - outdoor range ?

im hoping renewals - they usually dont have to shoot if held for a long period and renewed regularly - but its up to the instructor and his history with the applicant ,
some of us shoot regularly in three guns or other competitions so we know each others abilities ,

im not going to think about AC for a good long time here , but im thinking of bikinis ....wish there was warm sand to sit on right now

Now you went and made me look up satsumas.  Had never heard of them and I spend a good bit of time in FL.  I will have to look around for them and peel a cold one.

cold ? COLD??!! Rhino, you aint cold..ur "chilled". "Cool" is when you can chill your beer outside, without it freezing...COLD is like the last few days here..it freezes me beer inside the unopened case, before I can get to it!! BTW: my beer has been inside last few days.
