I have decided that after today I can quite safely state........... 180 Gn .303's are too much for crows !!!!!!! I was out the back on my bench ,having a few shots & a Crow landed on a fence about 100mtrs away for reasons known only to it (Suicidal ? Maybe it had Hoadie's posts on my failing eyesight ?) Any way it was to good a opportunity to pass & I let one rip ! Yep, max over kill

Agreed Dave H, I was plinking around sometime ago and had a similar experience. I had loaded up 100 30-06 150 gr Nosler ballistic tip with some IMR4320. It tends to vaporize your quarry! |

When I was about 8 I was bored rabbit shooting with the .410 so I shot a blue fairy wren from about 5 feet away....it was like a cartoon...all that was left were it's feet!
I also happened to have a .308 in the truck spotlighting one evening and shot a mixo rabbit from about 10 metres.....not much of that left either! |
