It's being advertised as a "No1 MkIII". No mention of it being an Indian made rifle. It also has the infamous "FR" stamp I assume?
I have very little info, but the asking price is $350 what's your opinions? |

A rifle that was reworked in India. It could have beem made in country or just reworked in country.
According
to Edwards (India's Enfield) The first FR program at Ishapore started
in 1922 (until 1932) and was restarted in 1941and continued into the
1970s. The complete scrubbing or receivers is associated with this
program starting in '41 (so well before independence). |
