Yes it's thinner & a different shape as well. The positioning is different too by almost 2 3/4" IIRC.

So I am now a man on a mission. I am looking at No.5 rifles with the thought of finding one with crisp unsanded woodwork. The better the pattern, the better the product.

I have a backlog of wood to catch up, but I should be making No.5 wood sometime this summer.

Simon, put me on the list for a no5 forend when you get them going on. We will figure out a trade for it. Mines cut at the barrel band. I also wanted to see if i could borrow a flash hider from a no5 to copy if you have one.
