The Prime rib is being dry rubbed as we speak. We aren't going hungry though. Its 5pm here & we're still digesting breakfast.

No spititual visitors here, just Santa on a fire truck. (U.S. tradition, not sure when the big, red elf traded the sleigh, or why.)

Well ! We had a perfect Christmas Day. I got back to the Port from Roxby after night shift at about 10 am ,Tracey the kids & dog were there to pick me up from the Bus ,it was down the beach for a quick swim & then home to open Presants & to those lovely Plattters ! in Airconditioned comfort ! Our Poor Dog ,gutsed herself & slept for about 8hrs ! I must admit to having had a little snooze after lunch myself (I'd been up for just over 30 hrs though ) & to top it off I recived a Phone call from Tony in the everning ! All in all it was a very good day !

We had the Famaly over last night... ate some food and the Famaly traded and opened thier presents.
Mean while I was out side getting the fire ready and loading the cannon...
found about 15 to 20 feet of cannon fuse that afternoone on the way Home from work.
waited till all had did thier X-mass thing and then went into the House to visit and eat...
then out to shoot the cannon and start the fire.
We all sat around and watched the Kids shoot some fire works and Me shoot the cannon over and over....
I then went down the road to My naighbors house for some more Adult bevrages and shoot the cannon some more...the cannon does a nomber to a Beer can when placed on the muzzel....

Rhino-what kinda cannon ya got?
When I took my Black powder artillery training,we placed a beer can @ 125(or was it 150?) yds, in front of a 12lb Napoleon.@ full charge(no projectile)the can exploded from the concusion.(but-it WAS a Budweiser, after all).
we placed a roasting chicken @ 50 yds the same way-hangin from a pole. Looked like it had the worst case of black acne I'd ever seen!!

I went to my sisters farm yesterday and we had a great day busting clay targets.
Some of the visitors had never tried it before and all had a good time.
My 11 year son won the day with his 20 gauge and on 2 occasions broke 2 clays with 1 shot. Even outdid his old dad and made his grandfather pretty proud.
My 8 year old busted 4 clays with the 410 so he was happy too.
Then we hit the grog and all got happy.

Take one very heavy Hammer & apply it with great force to his Trigger finger !!!!!!! Kids out shooting their Seniors should be dealt with quickly! There's no telling where this might lead,if not nipped in the bud straight away Wink

No seriously ! Good luck to the kids both of them, it makes a Old Bloke happy to hear of Kids doing what we took for granted in our youth ! I reckon there should be more of it !

Why was the cook upset dave?

Deadset thats just how country boys roll.
But the winters coming,

And the snow will cover tracks,

And I'll be watching,

Because I'm hunting you

Why use black powder?? Get some sodium chlorate with out the "fire inhibitor" added and mix it with an equal part of sugar. Standard nail bomb mix or use salpetre and flour. Both mixes should give you a "LUVERLY BANG" lol.
