I was at the gunsmiths yesterday and he was finaly getting his many boxes of parts catalogued (or at least they were all out of the crates an on tables )
I saw boxes of bolts with most being from Long Lees and metfords with some having bolt safeties and some earlier. Dust covers and sights (some of the express sights from the Lee Speeds - ladder with 3 leaves) A whole table of wood (with much of it cut down forestocks but there were complete lengths)
Just imagine the parts from 50-100 rifles all in boxes and you would be close.
Then he showed me a couple of the rifles with just about everything being BSA. There was the NZ pattern carbine with correct 6 shot mag, a sporting rifle with tang safety and a hinged floorplate. Another sporting rifle with no holes drilled for lobbing sight but with semi sported military stocknicely checkered and some engraving (Like the Gibbs engraving)
He had a gunmakers gunparts websight at one stage and is in the process of bringing it back online for when he gets everything catalogued. His wife whp has little knowledge of the L E (she is German) is getting a crash course in the various parts and is sorting through everything for him. I know I will be in for a couple of dust covers and maybe another mag cutt-off or two He evn has a box of actions
He has just established an email for the new part of his business that will deal with the parts
Gunparts from Gunmakers NZ (Hugh Bradley) email email@example.com
I will be back up there in a couple of weeks and will takes photo's of what he has.
I am also happy to help in any way to get any of you the parts you may need
The ability to do comes with doing.
