I'm a brand new member here - glad to have found what looks to be an awesome resource for enfield owners.
I have three already in my possession (two No4 MkI's and a Mk5/jungle) and plans to build a sporter/shooter from parts. Of the 3 which I already own, I've never fired any, so I've started by ordering some headspace gauges and am doing a complete breakdown, inspection cleaning. As I'll be completely stripping the rifle/bolt etc down as far as possible I'm wondering if there is an 'absolute' best book I should own as an armorer's reference. As my cosmoline is washed away and I'm left with clean, raw, or blued steel, I'm particularly interested in direction about which parts should be oiled, which greased, which left raw, and which products to use. I haven't found this yet in the archives here, so I will post a question in the forums if I don't' receive a response here, but I thought I'd start this way Thanks in advance for any advice

glad your here and posting - someone smarter than me can offer armorers advice and references , but just so you know , that is a no 5 "jungle carbine" its a mk I - we like to keep the nomenclature straight as the mk V is a whole different piece altogether , actually of the SMLE variety , worth looking into by the way ....just sayin

I have a full set of the manuals on DVD, let me have a mailing address in a PM & I'll sent a copy to you.Unfortunately they're way too big to upload to the forum. |
