I do not know the Asian buffalo, so I respect that he can be just as dangerous.

I believe a lot had to do with bullet performance. Not being able to take the meat away with him, he was not able to see what the bullets did or did not do. The fact that the buff was killed finally with a 458, sugggets not enough gun in the end, and that 375 is the lowest one should go with some doubts.
No PH is going to sully his name by telling his clients that he has never taken a charge. For one that snake oil, and there are plenty of people in ourhunting association who have had this experience of a charge, as well as thoe who have not. Being in Africa, we are closer to the tales than elsewhere.

I am glad you have a Cape buff to your credit and ifyou got one clean hit, that is great.
Not a complete idiot. Still missing a few parts.

I defer to you, Saffer.  You been around buffalo much more than I.

I did shoot mine clean; one .375 solid to the heart and he only ran 50-60 yards.

What is interesting about the Asian buffalo is he can be wild and mean, or tame and helpful pulling carts and plows.  I never saw any African buffalo pulling carts while in Zimbabwe.  Do you know of any cases of domestication of Cape buffalo??

Tally ho
