I needed to pull some of my test reloads but most of the collet type pullers are for (US style) 7.62mm/.308" diameter bullets I discovered they wouldn't slide over the fatter .311/.312" 7.7 bullets for the .303.
I went looking but the only manufacturer who I could find actually listing a .303 (.311/312") collet is Redding.
ARGHHH!
Well I got clever & it even worked so I'm sharing.

If you have the RCBS collet puller this works, maybe it works with the Hornady & so on as well but I can't confirm that.

Take the collet out of the die & invert it so it is mouth UP. Now rest the top (now the bottom) on something solid like a 2X4 or workbench top. You'll see 4 splits where the collet shrinks & expands as it is pulled into the die. Locate  wedge shape flat object (I used a smallish screwdriver head) & gently tap it into the openings just a tap at a time & rotating opposite sides & sideways (180 degrees, 90 degrees 189 90) so it opens evenly & remains circular. If you have a spare bullet handy this can be used to see when you've opened it just enough. Now you can use it to pull .303!

The RCBS collet seems malleable & as its a small change it seems to do no harm, I'm not sure with other brands which may not be but heck its worth a try!
