Please, anyone can you help me locate a rear sight for mk5 rifle.  I picked up one of these rare rifles and want to restore it.  It is a 1924 made model.  I am also going to restore the stock but that will be in time.  I want to locate the sights first.  Would like to find one for a decent price.

this will not be an easy quest , but if successful it will be a rewarding experience , before you alter/restore do a lot of investigating , you dont want to do injury ,

there are some of these in suck state that they have become parts donors , you can find what you seek , it just wont be easy

You need to contact EFD Rifles in the UK. They have rear sights for the MkV SMLE. I believe they are new manufacture but identical. They do have a website.

sure it's expensive; but they have had them made to exact spec and with the bits to fit it. Don't think you'll find a second hand one anywhere.
A MkV without a rear sight is not much use, and putting a scope on is a big NO in my opinion. In view of the value of the rifle, I'd say it's worthwhile investing the money to be able to shoot it in correct spec. But that's just my opinion.
