Since the parts haven't been made in a long time, for MOST models, I am not up to date on the parts market for enfields. What happens when an important part needs to be replaced, such as a bolt head?

Many parts are still available. Bolt heads being one of those items. Barrels somewhat available but with some searching and the right connections those are as well. Are you in need of parts?

Bolt heads are tricky, they need to be sized. Most other parts are available from what I call "the usual suspects" those surplus parts dealers that sell old gun stuff, or boards like this. If all else fails e-Pay.

Occasionally, people do runs of a particular part, where they have become unavailable and, of course where the manufacturer thinks that it will be economically viable. Magazines are a prime example. This happens in the USA and, probably to a lesser degree in the UK. Don't know about Australia, although LE's are fairly popular there, so wouldn't surprise me. The thing is, if you need something hard to get, then think outside the box (or in this case outside the US borders) if you need to. Most things come to those who wait...

The big problem with overseas sourcing here is ex Pres. Obama's damn ITAR "rethinking" which bans many imports or exports.

Its all B/S, but its the law. ITAR was designed to keep proprietary U.S. secret technology from being exported to unfriendly nations, He reinvented the wheel & used it to ban all sorts of stuff that is in no way covered like MilSurps!
