I did that over 30 years ago. Still have all my gear (and the uniform still fits!)
I use it some times for parades in the town I live in.
BTW, I could load and fire my flintlock in ten seconds.

Tens seconds is dang good! Were you a Torrie or Whiggie? The familly and I are in the 84th Highland Reg. We usually do 5 to 6 re-enactments each year. We love it. Plus its great for the kids, no TV, game boys, skate boards, just imagination and they love to go. Do you still have your Brown Bess? I bought mine as a kit. It took me about 30 hours to finish it, and it looks great. In the reg. its known as "Golden Boy".

I do 18th Century Royal Navy roughly of the Seven Years War period. Very little changes between then and the American Revolution in terms of sailors dress/kit. I have a Navy Arms Co. P.1777 Charlesville and a P.1776 British Cartridge box (which sometimes I sneak into my kit despite its historical innacuracy and similarity to the large boxes of the 1750's infanteers).
