Just picked up a completely original SMLE mk. lll made in 1913 for $80 that's been demilled as a drill rifle so only the bolt needs replacing.I swapped the safety from my 1913 to go in the Ishapore I got in a trade with a non-function safety. The safety now works in the Ishapore but my SMLE safety won't screw back together in the correct alignment.Would just be better to buy a new one or take to gunsmith?

It would be best to keep the 1913 parts on the 1913 rifle even if it's a Drill Purpose only rifle. Get the proper Ishapore bits for the Ishapore!
You mention that the 1913 SMLE "only needs the bolt changing" Why? If it's Drill Purpose you can't shoot it. If it was made DP it's for a good reason; which is certainly safety related! That means your safety!
Do not try and shoot it!!!

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Agreed 100% if its marked DP its dead & gone as a shooter. Some have been injured with "resurrected DP's.

Sounds like very good advice so far. Best not to fire it.

Can you explain to me what you see as the difference between being converted to a DP & de-milling?

So it's a 1913 good condition DP rifle that you bought for parts and want to shoot because it has a good barrel.
Apologies, but I'm a little confused!
I think we need to see some photos of all the markings etc to ascertain what you have. 80 Dollars is very cheap for a 1913 rifle, even if it's a DP rifle so you got a good deal.
However I would not recommend breaking it for parts when you can probably find original Ishapore parts for your Ishapore rifle. Incorrect parts on either rifle will reduce the value.

I had already swapped out the stock on to the Ishapore before any pics and the light spot on the handguard was covered in white paint to a removed it.Value isn't my concern because I never sell guns I buy.

If the SMLE is 'DP' marked, it will be as above.

Is the SMLE with full stock a 7.62 Ishapore? If not, why is there a 7.62 magazine on it?

The full stock was originally on the .303 but since it's a DP marked rifle I swapped the front hand guards do that the 7.62 Ishapore would have a full stock.

OK we're definitely seeing the dreaded "DP" stamps.
De-milled, converted to "Drill Purposes (only)", or whatever this rifle should not be fired.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

At the very least, for your own safety, please have a gunsmith who is familiar with the Lee Enfields check it out first. There may be things that aren't visually apparent, like detempering of metals involved & you really don't know if its safe.

Are there any 'DP' markings on your SMLE similar to those as I have illustrated?
