A friend of mine loved the No.4 he was shooting, that be wanted to buy an Enfield.  I went to lunch with him today and we stopped by J&G gunsmithing in Roseville (Yes, the same town that had that plane doing aerobatics all the way into that house.) He ended up buying a MINT condition No.1 Mk.III Lithgow! This thing is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.  He walked away paying only 300.00 US. We got them down from 350.00.

Anyhow, we now have another lover of the mighty Enfield.  Ordinarily I would be bummed because someone else got this sweet rifle, but his wife won't allow it in his house... so he's gonna keep it in my safe!!  We are gonna take it to the range as soon as he picks it up, so I'll post pics then.

Eric

Some people get all the luck.
I've seen the future and I don't like it.

Great News on all fronts ! I must say ! My GunGuy has me in a tither at the moment he has just got 10 Enfields in from a decease estate ! Which one to take home though ? His going to bring them out to our place so I can try before I start buying (I live on a 20,000 acre property & have my own Testing range out the bacK door)

Sheesh Dave, if I ever come to Australia, I'm coming to your place! Sounds like you have all the makings for a fun day of shooting.

Sounds like heaven Dave , and you can bet if I ever get a chance to go to Oz I will  call and show up on your doorstep ready for a roo hunt. That car is cool but if you drove it here the local constabulary would read you the riot act if they could catch'ya...... I would love to hunt roo's with a .303 ......

The worst thing that has happened to me was getting caught by our local Cop several Paddocks away one day in the bush basher (I was lazy & it was the closest car ) Now not only did here realise that i would have been driving down our main road (which is still several Kms out of town & dirt ) But I was standing over a Dead Roo with nothing but a Ruger Blackhawk in .44mag (Handgun hunting is illeagle in AUZ ) !!!!! I found out the meaning of .... "A pregnant pause " & at last he said ..."Any chance of a shot ? Oh yes Mate !!!! No worries !!!!!!!
Used the .303 on roos for years & more often the 25-303! Stops em in their tracks !
