If one doesn't have a front sight pusher, may they safely remove a front sight blade with a drift punch?
Does the blade remove to the left?

Yes, but I'd provide lots of support the the sight mount.
Left or right, either works it's not tapered.

Good point, check the front of the sight block for the bolt head.Thumbs Up Looks like a reversed slot screw down inside a hole.

If it is a No 1 it is common for those blades to be peened and needing a touch with a file to help them loosen a bit.

Mine is a #4 mk1, no set screw. I'm sure some one needs the info, though. How does the #1 get peened?

It was prescribed for rifles where the site blade was a bit loose in the base, which happens sometimes. A center punch was used to put a divot in the sight base that would displace a bit of metal holding the sight blade a bit tighter. When I get some time I will take a picture and post up the example.

You'd have to re machine the bayonet lugs & barrel OD to put a flash suppressor on it.

Hey guys. I have a 1942 enfield that was sporterized by parker hale back in the day, and as such, it has a parker hale front blade sight. I hate how it looks. Have since the day I bought it, and I can't find any info anywhere as to how to remove it. Anyone know how this is done? I want to install an original enfield sight with sight hood and full wood stock too.
