Does anyone know if replica walnut cheek pieces are available in Canada? The last one I bought was off EBay and came from England. It was nice, but if available locally, that would be nicer. Thanks.

Take your old one to a wood shop with a pattern maker . Better yet take an original there as it will have been shaped by the end user. Normally the sharp edges have been knocked down.

I had to masking tape my sniper clone stock, put sand paper on that, then work the inside of the cheek piece for a nice fit. Worked good!

They all need a little hand fitting. Here's my home made one. Seasoned, dried, White Oak (the closest I could come to matching the stock) is a bear to sand. I used rotary sleeves in a power drill to rough finish the inside & the top front grooves, then finer & finer hand-sanding to blend & finish. This was taken when it was new-ish, the Linseed has darkened back to a gorgeous honey color now.

Very nice! I suspect that oak was like sanding concrete. Probably had the bit smoking when you drilled the holes!

I checked EBay. I had got one off there about 5 years ago and they are still available. Most from the UK. About $120 CAD all in.

You might be able to get a re-pro from Dr Payne or an original from Peter Laidler.

Or go all in here.

I believe that Valmont Firearms in the UK still sell replica ones. Check their website.

I don't think Honkytonk listens to advice.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone... I'm not sure what you mean about me not listening to advise. I was just curious about options (buying, making cheek piece)

Valmont Firearms have them for 48 UK pounds including the fitting screws. Not sure what that is in Canadian dollars.

Little rusty on my conversion rates but I suspect that's about $100 CAD. Then shipping. Thanks for the info! My next dilemma is to wether to keep my latest aquisition (really nice Parker Hale No 4 Standard sporter) as is using peeps for a nice bush gun, or installing a scope and cheek piece. I will have to ponder... Thanks again!

I suggest you shoot it at the range first and see how you get on with it.
I don't hunt (so I may be wrong); but I would expect iron sight's would be good for hunting. The distances your shooting at should not require a scope; plus you don't need to clean them if they get rained on.
