Don't see much here for Enfield revolvers … particularly the "original" one introduced in 1880 (Mk I) and in modified form (Mk II) in 1882.

A rather poorly-designed and ungainly beast, it proved quite unpopular and qas quite quickly supplanted as the standard-issue British Service revolverby the Webley Mk I service revolver, introduced in 1887.  The Enfield Mk II revolver was adopted by the North-West Mounted Police in 1882, and remained their standard-issue handgun until 1905.

I have the good fortune of owning a well-used, but still fully functional, Mk II Enfield revolver with NWMP provenance.  It is included in the list of known NWMP serial numbers recorded in "Arms & Accoutrements of the Mounted Police" but unfortunately little is known of its actual service history since the only Force record relating to it simply indicates that it was recorded as being "on charge" at Depot Division (Regina) as of February of 1897.
