![]() Greetings, I have a 1907 that I just picked up and was wondering if anybody knows anything about the stamps on the blade? Does the 18 mean that it was first accepted in 1918? Or, was it excepted after the war has still been usable?

iy looks good what i see - we need tosee details to give much more but its not been sharpened - thats a big plus , looks like it was refurbed between wars to me , thats why its been blued , they were originally produced in the white , but that is no deterrent to it at all , the scales apear to be originals /not replacements

Not that I know of or can tell. I just rubbed some light machine oil on it with my fingers.

yes - in 1907 it was made with a bright [white] finish , but it is in excellent condition , most were refinished between the wars , the fact that it was not sharpened preserved its value , i suspect it had a hooked quillon when made but thats been removed from what i see here , it also would have been made without the clearing hole in the pommel , that may have been added at refurb but not necessarily , would be interesting to see
im guessing the refurb date is the"21"

Looks like a very clean bayonet.
Made in April 1918, rebuilt in1921 and again in 1941.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

sprry , i missed that 18 date in original post , it would NOT have the quillon , might or might not have had the clearing hole but that might well have been added in 21 refurb , still a very desirable baronet to have and its in great condition , still would have been made in bright finish and was blued in refurb ,
did you get a scabbard with it ? that might add to value ,

Unfortunately no scabbard. I’d like to thank everyone for their input and information!
