We have red wolfs in NC and you are not supposed to shoot them.

Even vaguely making a relation between a wild animal and the treasonous ##### deliberately destroying this country is an unacceptable outrage and insult to the wolf!

No, I am talking about the real red wolves.
You treat "POLITICIAN" differently. You give them a enema and bury them in a shoebox.

If you give them an enema there's nothing left to bury anyway!

All that is left is a rotten set of clothes, and cheap shoes. The thrift stores will take them because of the stench.

(In a calmer state of mind) Wildlife experts in my area believe our local wolves are descendents left by the red wolves as they migrated through from Canada towards the Carolinas. I carry a rifle for protection on my land, but of all the wild critters that might pose a problem only the Coyote is legal to shoot.

From what I've read..WOLVES don't usually pose much of a threat to man. Its the Coyotes that seem to be the offender here.Smart-they will LURE you to a position whereby the pack can get you.Had that happen once on our way into the cabin 1 night.Coyote kept coming out in front of the van to stop me.Then it would hide behind the van.If I started to move-it would run out in front again to stop me.This went on for a bit.Stupid broad w/me @ the time figgered she'd get out & "help" it..until I shone the torch into the bush alongside the road.YOU SHUDDA SEEN ALL THE EYES!!Changed her mind PDQ I'll tell ya!
(With hindsight, I shudda let her get out! )Hoadie |

I love coyotes. One blast from my old 10 gauge side by side and they just disappear. It must be a magic shotgun at close distances.

I had a black bear come busting through the brush towards me at close range. It stopped when I snapped the rifle to my shoulder while flicking the safety off, about 30 feet away. I carry my rifles locked and loaded, with the safety on. I was charged by a moose at the end of my driveway one evening while walking my dog. I let the dog run, then stepped aside just before impact. At least it didn't turn and try again. I've had large cats (by the tracks) following me around. Now I find out that Russian wild boar are starting to move towards the area.
And my biggest threat once the snow is gone are the #### ticks.

Every year we have black bear attacks in Alaska. Some say they are more aggressive than brownies, who may attack, but then leave you alone, while blacks will flat-out eat you. ADFG tells folks to play dead with a brown bear if they attack, but fight back with a black.
A couple of winters ago a rural teacher out jogging was killed and eaten by wolves. Wolves were aggressively attacking dog walkers near the Air Force base in Anchorage and killed and ate some dogs but the people got away. Wild animals are wild animals. People are potential food for them. Guns are the great equalizer. I never leave home for the woods without a firearm of one kind or another. |

Well..I've heard it said that if your out in the woods w/ur girlfriend & you are confronted by a bear..you should stab her in the knee. This should allow you to walk away at a brisk pace and escape.

I never leave home with out my M1911A1. The M1911A1's have serviced my family well in war and at home.
That big 230 grain bullet leaves a lasting impression. I carry a gun because I fear the most wild of animal, man. |
