When I look up parts I find No.4 Mk1. Are they compatible with my Mk2?  Specifically the striker and ejector groups.  The rifle is very well built, and I don't expect anything to break, but considering the present climate I would like a little insurance on future avaiability.

Are the rear apertures on the different models all the same?  I would prefer one a bit smaller, similar to the M1A.

Has anyone got the funnel and poured boiling water down the barrel for cleaning?  I have been cleaning barrels for a long time and never did that, except muzzle loaders.

The only difference between a No 4 Mk 1 and a No 4 Mk 2 is the way the trigger is hung. Other than that the rest of the parts are the same, including the rear sights. As for the cleaning, yes, many people do actually pour hot water down the barrel after shooting corrosive ammo. It does make cleaning a bit easier but you can get by just fine by swabbing the bore with water, wiping down the receiver and bolt with a water soaked patch, wiping it all dry and then cleaning normally once you get home.
