Does the barrel at the muzzle move 360 degrees at least 0.1 inches without contacting the fore-end or handguard?  If so, likely has a barrel bearing at the sling swivel band, or between the band and chamber reinforce.  These rifles were used in Canadian match shooting into the early 1970’s when the DCRA rules changed to allow a .308 Target Rifle other than a Lee Enfield.

Those PH 5C rear sights are hard to come by.

Is the rifle still in .303 calibre, or 7.62 NATO?  Many of these Target rifles were converted to 7.62 in the 1960’s.

I see the barrel has bayonet lugs, so likely a .303 barrel.

New manual for the PH5C if you need one.
The eyepiece (IIRC) has dioptric (eyesight) correction & an adjustable iris for precision shooting.

Your hand-guard seems to be too far forward. It should NOT be contacting the rear of the sight block. it will affect accuracy & zero. No biggie, slacken off screw under front band, push back & re-tighten.
Don't shoot till you see the whites of their thighs. (Unofficial motto of the Royal Air Force)

Yep when I looked at the photo on my phone it looked like the bottom of the magazine when straight across but looking closer it's just where the border of the photo has cut straight acrossThumbs Up

F52 F54 F56 typically indicates a Fazackerly made barrel. The broad arrows facing each other with S centered on the knox form is a Sold Out Of Service stamp.  The * on the top of the reciever denotes Rust was found in the bore or chamber areas or both. The barrel appears to be a replacement.  Looks cleaner than the reciever it's mated to. Is there a, "FTR" stamped or electro stenciled on the flatside of the reciever or the wrist/buttsocket?
