The tear drop dimples work better with the well-worn charger bridge of my Savage No4 Mk1*. With a better condition bridge I don't think it matters that much.

I make a point of only buying used, issued original ones. OK they are getting harder to find and I can only regret the days when I used to buy British Government surplus ammo by the thousand and throw the chargers away.

Frameman,
If your Ishapore is a 2A1, it will have been built with the charger bridge set up for the NATO chargers. If you cant find any local (strippers for M14), I'll mail you a couple.

Gotta love the Swedes! Raw herring, 6.5x55 Swedish. Buddy has a rarish one. 6.5x55 Swede in a Remington 700. Probably 30 years old. Nice rifle. I've seen him shoot lots of deer and anchour a big elk at 200 yards.

I found a picture of the insert on the net.
The insert is pressed down into position (rubber mallet) and clips into place. Once installed it is not intended to be removed. The rivet is part of the kit, to hold the insert in place, but rarely used as not needed.
