so sat and sun were hot and highly humid here , today the humidity broke and even with the heat it was tolerable , but ....last night it got real hot in the house , checked the A/C and it was down , i suspected the energy switch that allows the power company to regulate it during high use but ...that was not the issue - blown fuse on the condensing unit , its happened before in high use times but not for the last couple years , replaced them and bingo its back on - taking a while to recondition the house [wish it was smaller it would recover quicker ] but im not looking to downsize yet , too much stuff to downsize first ,

Hows the filter? That seems to be our Achilles' heel!

The humidity has been so awful lately. I actually had to drill an extra hole in the bottom of one of my window a/c's so it could drain better. With all the humidity it was filling up the bottom, it just couldn't drain fast enough.

Good idea, Bear, I had to do the same here even though our humidity levels are not as high as yours' are. Here we are experiencing another heat wave, albeit for only 4 days the weather network said. Right now it is 95F and it is only 1pm PST.

102F here today. VERY smoky from the forest fires too. Windy like crazy! AC both working thank goodness, power is still on. The air quality is terrible, burns the eyes and back of your throat breathing that smoke in. 3 more days of this garbage then back to cool and rain. Gun range has closed down by order of the fire marshall.

we have gotten relief from both the humidity and the smoke in recent days , its been 75 to 85f and im so pleased , i can live with this - could relish it all year around if the lord would allow but ....we only get some and i best enjoy it , my A/C is back to normal - hard to imagine that the first half of my life i did without it , but thats part of being old i guess , folks didnt get it till i was long out of the house , i sorta missed out , my early apartments and first house didnt have it , all since about the early 80s did tho ...........but mine has not worked in my truck for the last five years - i make due , gotta replace the truck in the next couple years , ill get it then i guess ,

its looking a little like fall early with some leaves falling now , wont be long i guess , its been so dry this is the first year ive not had mosquitoes - we joke that its our state bird , they are usually terrible here , i cant say i miss them at all ,

our range is open and with all the recent improvements [new concrete , new benches and tables , lots of cleanup] i need to get down and shoot a bit before the deer hunters move in to sight in , already getting some that are making trips out west ,
