My Sunday morning at the range started off nicely.
I took the 1918 SMLE .22 to test some new ammunition; RWS match. We had the 50 metre range to ourselves. My daughter was using the spotting scope.
First shot of the day; daughter says "that's spot on Daddy". So I stop and take a look through the scope.

So when it start's this good; it can only go down hill from here. So I sent her down range to get the photo.
Next 9 shot's were not as good. All to the right of centre. I made a small adjustment for windage and the second set of 10 got me back into the centre. The 9 on the left I did call. Pleased that I got 3 more next to the first shot. I am loving this rifle; 102 years old and still does the business!

Good thinking to get the picture after the first shot. That is always nice from the first go.

First shot hitting dead center is a confidence builder.  With the Kongsberg target system, this shows up on the monitor as a X.9.   I had that happen a few times in standing off hand position at 200 yards, which I realize in this case is mostly luck!

Very nice shooting Zed.

I love looking at a target after being pelted with a 22.
Have you let your daughter out shoot you yet.
If I let my teenager loose with my Marlin 39A I stand no chance keeping up with her.
Have fun with your rifle and keep us updated...

my daughter is already giving me a good run for my money with the air rifle at 10 metres.
She does shoot the SMLE .22; but finds the trigger a bit heavy and needs more practice with the sights.
But she's only 9, so has plenty of time to get the hang of the SMLE.
The No8 is a bit easier; I can lighten the trigger easily; we should really use it more.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
