Gday all
just wondering if there is any way to get an approximate YOM for a sling that doesn't appear to have any stamp??
or does the lack of indicate a repro?

thanks in advance

Nowhere as much as it indicates a scrubbing to get rid of the "Blanco"!
Most repros have way, way too good a stamping! Most of the originals have fades a bit over the decades. ALL accessories from ALL manufacturers were required to be stamped with maker & year.

nope - your repros are generally clearly marked , as are some originals but that looks good as an original , not all were marked

I have a similar sling - no markings at all that I can see, but it looks similar.   Photo of the buckles attached.   I assumed it was a repo, but maybe it is original after all.   It was installed "upside down" and unfortunately scratched the wood of the rifle.

it looks pretty authentic to me , you can see the remains of the blanco , there were earlier brass fitted and later steel fitted FWTW

Both look original military spec. One thing to check out is that the brass isn't cracked where the hook sits.
I bought one and only noticed the crack when it was on the rifle. You don't want it to fail when you are carrying the rifle.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
