Thanks John. Good information to take on board.
I have a lee primer tool, but the case trimmer I had is AWOL. (Note to self - must check the seating/crimping). |

Why crimp?? The bullet seats tight in the case anyway and crimping will boost pressures I've never crimped any of my cartidges in any of the calibres I use and the results have always been excellent.

With a "Lee Loader" I don't think you much crimping choice. This is the tool you smack with a hammer not used in a press. It neck sizes only. Lee makes some good cheap tools. I use the Lee hand trimmer, Lee hand chamfering tool and the Lee hand primer pocket scraper. After trimming use the chamfering tool both inside and outside the case mouth. You just turn around the tool as it's shaped like a cone. It doesn't take much. Don't remove too much brass. Not all Lee trimmers include the case gauge and it must be purchased separately or the case holder must be purchased separately. I for get exactly how they are sold. There are three pieces needed for the case trimmer. The cutter, the gauge and the case holder. The chamfering tool is one small piece as is the primer pocket scraper. These Lee tools do a good job on the cheap.

I do not crimp. Beware crimping will increase working pressures as well.

first time I reloaded I crimped , didnt know any better... .308 cartriges they went every place but the target.....
I stoped reloading for awhile because of that.......
I could not at the time figure out why they did that and the rounds My Buddies Dad reloaded for Me I could hit a Beer can at 100 yds open site...
then I found out He did not crimp and He was only neck sizing....
