I have a LE model 4 with the two way aperture sight. These are set for 300+600 meters. I'll never use it for that range. I'll probably shoot from 50 to 150 yards at most. I'm I correct that the best way to change this is by replacing the front sight for a taller one? Springfield Sporter offers different ones for cheap, but I'd like to know which one I need. Has anyone done this?

No. I've never heard of a front sight tall enough to compensate.
The good news is you can easily swap the rear sight for minimal cost to a "ladder"type! Most of the real screw micrometer types can easily set 100yds. "2" - 4 clicks. |
