Well the time came two weeks ago to move this sight on to another Enfield enthusiast, as open sights don’t work well for me anymore. (PH5E4 looks to be the next to move on)

Never had it mounted to a rifle.

It was a cool sight being that it folded down - the new owner is very happy with it.

I have one of those sights. It's currently on my 1918 .22 SMLE. 
Great fun to shoot with this sight. Certainly helps reduce your group size!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I installed a PH5A on my #1 and for me it made a world of difference over the standard sights! Although it did cost 1/2 the price of the rifle!

I love mine. It took a while to find one & even longer to find the SMLE close up mount! That's beautiful BTW!
 I hope you got a premium price for it. Particularly with the original mounting bolt, those things are unobtanium, I'm still looking for one for mine.

Yes those old "match" irons are rare & getting rarer.
I find its the perfect accessory for having a functioning 1914 rifle that's got a distinct "Steampunk" flavor to it!
I like the fold away feature too in the SMLE because you don't have to remove it to clean.

The 9G is a very nice sight; my current SMLE is sporting a 9C at the moment although I did have a Parker Plus 5 on it some years ago.

My inner nerd has spotted something that intrigues me; the sight is made by Mr AG Parker senior (AGP) and the bracket is made by his son Alfred J Parker (AJ Parker).

Mr "AG" Parker's foreman a chap called Arthur Hale became a director of AGP and on Parker seniors death took the company over and eventually changed the name to Parker-Hale. 
My understanding is that Alfred left shortly after his father died and started AJ Parker's, which incidentally their last premises have only just been demolished in Birmingham after being left derelict for some years.

The "G" is highly recommended for the SMLE because it has more windage "wiggle room" for the fatter SMLE butt socket. But if your individual rifle is fine with the shorter one no problem. I think its one of those "when the wind come from the right at 40 mph, you'll regret that at 600yds" things Embarrassed
They didn't come with a matched bracket, unlike the Parker Hale "5" series.
It was originally for the Martinis, & then the Long lees, finally the SMLE, so were the plates, but both long & short eye relief plates existed for the SMLE's. You bought the plate you needed.

Long lee plate:

Mine is actually a Lithgow short eye relief (called a "close up) plate!
