I have been corresponding with Allan Swan in Queensland Australia. We have been discussing an alternative chambering for my Sporterized No4Mk1/2 and I have decided on having it chambered in .243W with a 1-10" twist and a 25" barrel length with a Target Crown. Lead Time is approximately 12 weeks and all I need to do to the barrel is make the cut for the extractor. The barrel itself is a chromium molybdenum alloy specimen and will have the No4 military contour. 3 months to wait is an eternity to me but, it is what it is...

THAT will be an interesting project! I've had a couple of .243's and they will always have as place in my heart!

I have been thinking about this project for some time now and since getting the French Resistance No4Mk1 it became quite clear that change was in order. The Frenchie will be my Go-To 303 shooter now. At least once I do start shooting with it. I have the 7.62x51mm Enfield but to be honest, it is not as fun to shoot as I thought it would be so it has become a Closet Queen more or less. I have already started working on getting the ammunition to feed reliably from the magazine into the chamber by using the Closet Queen as a testbed.  The magazines feed ramp needs to be tweaked a little more but I am getting closer to consistent feed...

Goosic. I may have missed this part. What stock are you going to use for the .303/.243?

I am taking the barrel off of this No4Mk1/2 rifle so, what you see is what it will be as far as the Sile stockset goes...

My first question to the man was to ask if there would be an issue shipping a barrel to me and he assured me that there is no issues.  You can ask him if he can get one to you, mail@allanswangunsmithing.com

True I may just do that in the new yr. I`d like to have a one in 25/303, I may contact Epps as well, never know what they got kicking around.
After all, old Elly was the father of most of these wildcats for the .303

I have been on the waiting list for a replacement barrel for my M1917 for over 6 months now.  It has a WW2  replacement Johnson Arms 2 groove that will bench 4" at 100 yards.
Have a Nice Day
If already having a nice day please disregard
