I finally went to see it today.

Good movie IMHO, the usual Hollywood "movie stuff" mistakes, (muzzle flashes from a suppressed weapon & so on), a bit surprising from a Gun Guy like Eastwood. I'm still trying to figure out the bit towards the end with the cocked .45 Colt sitting on top of the door frame.

Ignore all the hoopla & give it a shot. (sorry, bad pun)

ill wait to see it when it gets out on disc , but i have heardlots of good things , i hope there is some residuals going to his family - just sayin ,

as to the movie flaws - gotta remember "its a movie" things like muzzle flash and impossible impact reactions are required to build the proper "feelings" in the audience , your gonna have it even with a savvy director

I watched some out takes from the Movie Fury , and seen where in one seen they did not use the actor got into the assistant driver seat ...some one yelled grenade and then he comes out with his hand supposedly blown off !!! the rest of the actors did their reaction to the grenade call , but there was no Boom added ...kinda messed with my head , since I was looking for the grenade and never seen it or heard the sound of one ...had to rewind and look again....I guess if the scene would have been used they would have put the sound effects to it !!
Sometimes if your not caught up in the movies you can actually pick out the things they forgot to add sound to and things they added sound for that are not there !!!
Gotta remember , these kids who are doing the sound effects and all , may have never been in combat , have never tried to hide behind a rock the size of baseball or tried to dig their head in the ground because of incoming motors !!!!  They dont know what the breath of fire is or why someone feels like they are breathing fire at that specific time !!!

Yeah, I know its Hollywood. I have yet to read a book, then see the movie of it & think its an improvement. My comment was directed more at those who have been saying (not on here) that there were "inaccuracies" which made it a "Propaganda piece". If it was it would have been way more rah-rah.

I personally wanted to fling a bullet at the other sniper if he "twiddled" his POSP just one more time!

I read the book first. Of course there's never a movie that follows a book completely. The book is even more direct than the movie and gives a lot more insight to the mental challenges of the job that is represented in flashes in the movie.

Anyone with PTSD can identify with several passages in the book. "the more I tried to relax the worse things got. It was as if my body began to vibrate and thinking about it only made it buzz more." PTSD is nothing to be ashamed of. I've been diagnosed with it and I won't be going on any killing sprees. It's just a chemical imbalance and it can be dealt with. While mine came from my law enforcement career I still obtain treatment from the VA and after years of trying to drown it I own it.

The book does have the requisite amount of "SEALS are the baddest of the bad" but in context to what they were accomplishing it does fit. It' is plainly written and does contain contrite statements. The man knows he is far from perfect and lets you know it.
If I get knocked down 6 times I will get up 7 times.

The film opens in France next week so hope to get to see it after my vacation(next week).
A friend of mine was chatting to me about the movie; he said that apparently some people were complaining that they're shooting too many muslims in the movie!
Then he drop's the quote of the week " I suppose there's not much else to shoot at really!"
LOL
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
