   i was never that deeply invested in aussie enfields but i did have a fair amount of info back when , i did not know this -
while it doesnt surprise me its fun to know and im sure we have folks that can expand or correct this inf as it came from a non-enfield site ..........

I think it died out in the 80's/90's when we moved to deployable Brigades and the MD's no longer had a role in supporting training or Operational deployments.
The last to go was prob 8 MD in the Northern Territory and it was replaced by NORCOM (Northern Command)......"

	That is interesting to know. I had no idea they no longer had the MD's as we think of them.
