I’m going to make this short.
Decided to use my mkIII Ross this hunting season. But still want to use my No.4 Lee-Enfield. Decided to use the current hot Enfield load in the Ross. Need new load for the Enfield. Shot the hot load out of the Ross. Grouped just over three inches at one hundred yards. Tried three different round nose loads for the Enfield. Ended in failure. Still need new load for the Enfield. Bought some Reloader 15. Current load in Ross; 174 grain Woodleigh bullet, 46 grains of BL-C(2), Federal 210 large rifle primers. Want to use Reloader 15 with either Hornady’s 174 grain Inter-lock, Campro’s 180 grain round nose or Speer’s 180 grain Hotcor in the No.4 Enfield. Any suggestions? |

I've never used Reloader 15 but I recently developed a load using a 174 gr RN that shoots very well out of my No4 and No5. Winchester large rifle primers, annealed thrice loaded PPU brass and a loosely calculated ft/sec of 2300. OAL 2.94"... The powder I use is different than what you have, so my post probably won't help you. In those two rifles with the above mentioned components and ft/sec I wanted, both rifles love this round.

I’ve shot my best 100 yard groups with Re 15 and 174 SMK. it is a great powder for the .303 cartridge. It meters well thru most measures, typically within +/- 0.1 grains.
40.0 grains of Re 15 should do great with 174 or 180 gr Bullet. Alliant website gives 42.0 gr Re 15 with 180 gr Speer RNSP as max.

My best loads for the .303 were always with Norma #202 or the old IMR 4895.

I will be out with my MK 5 jungle carbine on Thanksgiving day. Reliving my first deer hunt many years ago. Hunting the same woods, sitting in nearly the same place.
I didn't have a rifle back then so I I barrowed one from an uncle. He had a jungle carbine he let me use over the Thanksgiving weekend. This year iam reliving that first hunt. |

Good luck to you.
As a bit of an update I have decided on Hornady’s 174 grain Inter-locks for my Lee Enfield as they shot the best. |
